Honey.

Sunday, February 15, 2015

I wrote this a year and a half ago just after I lost my biggest fan.

I haven't had the courage to share it until now.

Valentines Day was always a special day for Grandpa Z.  His heart was so full and he always felt so lucky to have us.  All of us grandkids knew that.  But what I hope that he knows today, is that we were all his biggest fans and he is the reason we will all choose love.  Love you Gramps. We were so lucky to have you and miss you every single damn day.

Honey

the way the wind takes you takes my breath away
no one can tell me where it goes
and i love it when you tell me
i am everything

the point of life is so

you can bring me anything

you taught me how to drive
to where my whims take me

when the world is crumbling
and it seem so lame

thats when you told me he just needs more love
but you get what you pay for

honey

it sounds so sweet

i want to come back to where you came from

the dream is sometimes so disappointing
but i was too young to know

and you want to give me everything

finish what you started, love
is all that matters

lucky, love and sweet sweet honey
and so the wind goes xoxo

When visitors visit

Sunday, January 5, 2014

We are fortunate that even though we live so far, we still get lots of visitors from family and friends.

We love it and it's such a fun opportunity to see new things and see this place with rose colored glasses again and again.  When they want to see windmills, wooden shoes and tulips - we deliver!

I don't post pictures of my sister-in-law and her family but here are a few pics from our great weekend together (minus their beautiful smiles).

We love our cousins.  And visitors.

This weekend is was Bruges

Coined as the "Venice of the North" and a UNESCO World Heritage Sight, Bruges, Belgium is absolutely (adorably) beautiful - and full of chocolate, frites, waffles, beer and bruges; which means "bridges" in Flemish.

We drove down for an overnight stay.  At only 2 1/2 hours away, it's so worth the trip.

Mila kept asked why were were going to a place called "bruise".   Rémi  just kept asking when we could eat the chocolate - and Arnaud was on this crazy mission to find this Patisserie that he had read about.  Turns out all of their questions were answered.

Mila fell and got a big bruise on her knee.
Rémi ate his fair share of chocolate.
Arnaud found his patisserie - plus a few others.
and I never actually took a picture of a bridge.

Great place for Moules Frites

Why wouldn't the mayor invite everyone for a beer at 10 am?
