When visitors visit

Sunday, January 5, 2014

We are fortunate that even though we live so far, we still get lots of visitors from family and friends.

We love it and it's such a fun opportunity to see new things and see this place with rose colored glasses again and again.  When they want to see windmills, wooden shoes and tulips - we deliver!

I don't post pictures of my sister-in-law and her family but here are a few pics from our great weekend together (minus their beautiful smiles).

We love our cousins.  And visitors.

This weekend is was Bruges

Coined as the "Venice of the North" and a UNESCO World Heritage Sight, Bruges, Belgium is absolutely (adorably) beautiful - and full of chocolate, frites, waffles, beer and bruges; which means "bridges" in Flemish.

We drove down for an overnight stay.  At only 2 1/2 hours away, it's so worth the trip.

Mila kept asked why were were going to a place called "bruise".   Rémi  just kept asking when we could eat the chocolate - and Arnaud was on this crazy mission to find this Patisserie that he had read about.  Turns out all of their questions were answered.

Mila fell and got a big bruise on her knee.
Rémi ate his fair share of chocolate.
Arnaud found his patisserie - plus a few others.
and I never actually took a picture of a bridge.

Why wouldn't the mayor invite everyone for a beer at 10 am?
